So much on the mind

So today for some reason, i feel like I'm trying to "conform" to society too much...trying to fit in. It's got me depressed a bit. I don't want to fit into a "box". It takes away from what defines me. But I feel the devil putting things into my space that are tempting me right now. Some of them are easy to ward off and some aren't. I'm still working on it. Only thing I DON'T like about it is that it's affecting my music...affecting my creativity. So I'm taking a little break for a few days this weekend.

Another thing that just randomly came across my mind...you know how you have to sometimes cut people loose in order to progress yourself. Not that they are bad people, but you just can't have them around for a particular reason because it will hold you back. Well what happens when you realize that you are that somebody that someone close to you had to let go because you were holding THEM back. I know, me personally, in that situation I just proceed to evaluate myself and then find out where I need to improve (if i feel improvement is needed...sometimes you and that person are just not on the same path). But even us guys have emotions sometimes...especially when it's a woman who decides that you aren't what she needs in her life...after so long.

This isn't something that happened recently, but recently I've been really thinking on if there are any good women around me and what does it take to have one in my life. I realized that she was a very good woman, but there were circumstances that I felt I could not deal with and she felt there were things in her life she wanted to improve. Thinking about all this has popped her up in my mind..maybe to remind me that I don't need to backtrack and try to settle for anything and anyone just to say I have someone. But I digress...and to put it simply...I miss her and the things she used to do for me in all aspects of life...

With my music, I have a couple of options I would love to pursue, but I have to make sure that the people I deal with on a daily basis are those who I feel are really wanting to MAKE MUSIC...not become famous or just try to shine and get a spotlight. Of course I want to make money from what I do, but I also want to make GOOD music. Something that everyone can listen to...and i mean REALLY listen to. the actual MEANING OF MUSIC is being lost. I'm trying to find my own meaning and inspiration. I just want to make sure that I direct it in the right direction. I know I will...just need to pray about it and stay focused.

Anyways, those are just a few thoughts that came across my mind.

whats good everybody! its a beatutiful morning!

I just wanted to come through and show you guys a site that i just joined last night. It's a spot where you can earn a little extra change without doing too much. Now i'm not sitting here telling you that you'll make MILLIONS (you can, but I can't guarantee it), but an extra $100 every day or two hasn't hurt anybody I don't think. But don't let that deter you because you have to "use dough to make bread" right? Plus you'll get $100 on the first day so you'll get that money back PLUS some.

Been a Minute..

Just droppin through to put a little blog up. I don't know if Blogspot will kick you off or not if you are inactive for too long, so I had to get at you guys. I hope things are going well for you all. Things are going well for me. I've decided to make a few changes in my life. I went to church this past Sunday for the first time in a while. I enjoyed seeing the people there...my church family. I decided to let God play more of a role in my life than I have allowed Him too....or maybe i should rephrase that.

I've decided to acknowledge Him more in my everyday life. I know that He has always been active and has Kept me safe, but I haven't always stayed on the path He has set for me. I think I need to find out what it is that I'm destined to be.

On another note, I believe that a loved one and I have come to terms with the relationship that we have to this date. I love you so much and you have done things for me that no other woman has done. I thank you because you have done a lot to turn me into the man that I am today and you have given me even more motivation to keep striving to become better and stronger. Maybe under different circumstances, we would be one...but i do not regret anything that we have been through or the the things that have happened between us. I love you so much. The ONLY reason i won't say your name is because you don't like me to put you on blast like that, so I won't. But you know this is about you.... Te Amo mi amor...always and forever...

Well i can't put too much in here. I'm at work. However, i will try to blog more often and keep folks updated on my journey to greatness...and feel free to share your journey to greatness with me as well.

Cafe 290 Show...Let's just say...

it was an experience. A good one for the most part...up until i got up to perform. Man i swear. Right before I got called up to do my song, something in my head said..."you're going to forget the words". Sure enough, I got to the last verse, and after 2 lines, the words just stopped coming out of my mouth. I choked horribly. For the most part, I think the crowd kind of liked the song. It was just that my delivery was PATHETIC. But thats part of the show too right? Well I have a little footage from it...hopefully the first verse got recorded..that was the best part of my show (all i can say about that is Ms. Crunk....clawdhammercy). But overall it was a good experience. If i decide to go back next season, then I'll make sure I'm prepared a little more. But I think I should just stay in my lane and continue working on my production skills. So I'll definitely keep working hard and doing what I do.

Who's Got That Vibe @ Cafe 290 in Atlanta GA

So i have an audition this Friday for a show in Atlanta, GA at this exquisite Jazz spot called Cafe 290. I'm pretty sure I'll do well enough to get into the show, so I'm inviting you all to come check me out. Show starts at 8:30 PM on July 29th...next wednesday. If you can't come, I'm going to see if I can get my folks to videotape my performance. I think it will also be televised, so I'll fill you in on what station it will be on.

I'll also be getting the DVD of my performance at the TAKE THE MIC competition from last month..hopefully i'll be able to put some clips up. Can't upload the whole thing...don't want to bootleg my people's hard work. lol.

but anyways. thats pretty much it for now.

Whats good to all my ONE followers. lol. Hello Patrice.

I just wanted to let y'all know about the Who's Got That Vibe talent show in Atlanta, GA. I'll be performing there next Wednesday on July 29th, 2009. Hopefully I'll do well.

Soon I'll be posting video clips of my performance at the Take The Mic Competition held last month here in Aiken, SC.

I'll be letting all one of you know if I actually get in the show in Atlanta or not. LOL

just another day at the job

you know...sometimes a job is like a relationship...at first you seem to be really interested...then after a couple of years...things become mundane..you struggle to find things that interest you because you've been doing the same thing over and over...something in you wants to find something new...something exciting...but then you'll end up right back in the same spot after a while..looking for something intriguing...

this is the reason i love making music. no matter how many times my fingers touch the keys, i enjoy it...i love how i can put what i feel into my music without the use of large words that the average audience won't understand without a pocket dictionary...eventually words are put to my music...but until that point...i feel like i'm able to get everything i feel off of my chest...

and it clears my mind to make new music!
